Quick answer: which data provider fits you
- You want one tool for finding contacts and sending sequences, with a free plan to start: Apollo. Paid seats start at $49 a month billed annually, and G2 reviewers give it 4.7 from more than 9,800 reviews.
- You want verified emails at a low, published price and you hate losing unused credits: Prospeo. Starter is $49 a month (or $37 billed yearly), credits roll over, and you're only charged when a valid result comes back.
- You're an enterprise team that needs the deepest US dataset, intent topics and org data, and you have the budget: ZoomInfo. It doesn't publish prices.
- You already use two or three data vendors and want to chain them so a miss in one falls through to the next: Clay, which pulls from 150+ providers. Paid plans start at $185 a month.
- Bounces are your main problem: Findymail. It checks each email live and refunds credits if your bounce rate goes over 5%.
- You sell into Europe and need mobile numbers with compliance paperwork behind them: Cognism. Pricing is on request, with 5 seats included in each plan.
- You want a cheap way to pull phone numbers from a Chrome extension: Lusha, from $37.45 a month billed yearly.
- You sell into Asia-Pacific or want to catch companies entering a new market: Pubrio, which tracks expansion signals across 200+ markets.
How we ranked them
We send cold email for B2B clients every day, so contact data is the input we notice first when a campaign underperforms. A wrong title wastes a touch. A bad email does worse: it bounces, and enough bounces hurt every other mailbox on that domain. We ranked these tools on the things that change results and cost:
- Pricing transparency: is there a published plan with a price and a credit count, or do you need a sales call to learn anything?
- What it does best: a database you search, a verifier, or a layer that combines other vendors.
- Data quality features: live verification, catch-all handling, refresh frequency, and whether you pay for misses.
- Integrations: CRM sync (HubSpot, Salesforce), sequencers, API and Clay.
- Ease of setup: can one rep sign up and pull a list today, or is this a project for RevOps?
- G2 reviews: the rating and, more important, how many reviews sit behind it.
Every price below comes from the vendor's own pricing page, checked in November 2026. G2 ratings and counts are from each product's G2 listing in the same month; counts move every week, so treat them as approximate. We didn't run a controlled accuracy test across all eight tools, so where a vendor makes an accuracy claim we quote it and say it's the vendor's number.

The 8 best B2B contact data providers
1. Apollo: the best default for most outbound teams
Apollo is a contact database with a sequencer, dialer and CRM-style deal tracking built on top. Its pricing page says you get access to 240M contacts and 30M companies. For a team that doesn't yet own a data tool and a sending tool, it covers both in one login, and the free plan means a rep can test it before anyone signs anything.
Pricing, from Apollo's pricing page: Free is $0 with 900 credits per seat per year, granted monthly. Basic is $49 per seat per month and Professional is $79, both billed annually; monthly billing costs more (the page says annual saves 24%). Organization is $119 per seat per month with a 3-seat minimum. Basic includes 30,000 credits per seat per year, Professional 48,000 and Organization 72,000, all granted upfront. An email costs 1 credit and a phone number costs 8.
- Best for: SMB and mid-market teams that want data, sequences and a dialer without buying three products.
- Data quality features: verified emails and phones, waterfall enrichment and a deliverability suite with email warmup on paid plans.
- Integrations: Salesforce and Gmail extensions on every plan, CRM integrations and API enrichment on paid plans.
- Watch-outs: credits don't roll over, including add-on credits you paid for. Every seat on an account must be on the same plan, so one power user can force the whole team up a tier. The free trial includes only 75 credits.
- G2: 4.7 from more than 9,800 reviews on Apollo's G2 listing, the largest review base on this list.
2. Prospeo: the best price per verified email
Prospeo is a search database and enrichment tool focused on verified emails and mobiles. Its homepage claims 280M verified leads and companies and 98% data accuracy (the vendor's own figure), and its pricing page says the data is refreshed weekly. For cold email, the billing rule matters most: Prospeo's help center says you're only charged when a valid result comes back, and a search with no result costs 0 credits.
Pricing, from Prospeo's pricing page: Free is $0 with 100 credits a month. Starter is $49 per user per month ($37 billed yearly) with 2,000 credits a month. Growth is $99 ($74 yearly) with 5,000 credits, and Pro is $249 ($187 yearly) with 15,000. Unused credits roll over. Per Prospeo's credits article, a verified email is 1 credit and a mobile is 10, with the email included free.
- Best for: teams running cold email that want the most verified emails for the money and a clear credit rule.
- Data quality features: weekly refresh, charge-on-valid-only billing, and 28 to 41 search filters depending on plan, including job change and technology filters.
- Integrations: CSV and API enrichment from Starter, HubSpot and Salesforce sync from Growth, plus a Chrome extension, Google Sheets add-on and MCP server.
- Watch-outs: CRM sync starts on Growth, not Starter. The free plan caps row selection at 25. There is no built-in sequencer, so you'll pair it with a sending tool.
- G2: 4.6 from more than 1,000 reviews on Prospeo's G2 listing.
3. ZoomInfo: the deepest dataset, if you can justify the contract
ZoomInfo is the best-known enterprise provider of US company and contact data, with intent, org data and a sales workspace layered on top. Its data page claims 500M+ contacts, 100M+ company records, 300M+ verified business emails, 135M+ direct dials and intent signals across 4,500+ topics. The same page lists a 96% email deliverability rate and 87% mobile accuracy; those are ZoomInfo's numbers, not ours.
Pricing: not public. ZoomInfo's pricing page offers "custom packages based on your B2B data use cases" behind a "Get pricing" form. It says the API is "priced on usage, not seats" and warehouse data is "contracted per dataset." Free trials are offered for some use cases.
- Best for: enterprise and upper mid-market teams that need US direct dials, intent topics and account hierarchies, and have RevOps to manage the tool.
- Data quality features: claims of human validation alongside AI, plus a large direct-dial set that most cheaper tools can't match.
- Integrations: out-of-the-box CRM, sales automation and marketing automation integrations. ZoomInfo's own pricing FAQ says these typically carry a base cost and a minimum bulk credit purchase.
- Watch-outs: you can't compare price without a sales call, and integrations add cost. Its international figures are smaller than the headline: the data page lists 79.6M+ companies and 157.8M+ contacts for international markets.
- G2: 4.5 from more than 9,100 reviews on G2, where it's now listed as GTM Workspace, Powered by ZoomInfo.
4. Clay: best for combining several providers into one waterfall
Clay isn't a single database. It's a spreadsheet-style workspace that queries other data vendors in order: if the first provider has no email for a contact, Clay tries the next. Its pricing page says you can find and enrich data from 150+ providers on every plan. For teams that already know which vendors cover their market best, a waterfall can fill gaps that any one source leaves.
Pricing, from Clay's pricing page: Free is $0 with 500 actions and 100 data credits a month, but no phone enrichment and up to 200 rows per table. Launch is $185 a month ($167 billed annually) with 15,000 actions and 2,500 data credits a month. Growth is $495 a month ($446 annually) with 40,000 actions and 6,000 data credits, and adds CRM auto-sync and web intent signals. Enterprise is custom on an annual commitment.
- Best for: GTM engineers and agencies building custom lists from several sources, with research steps (Claygent) along the way.
- Data quality features: multi-provider waterfalls, bring-your-own API key, and job change signals from Launch.
- Integrations: CRM sync and enrichment, data warehouse sync, HTTP API and webhooks on Growth.
- Watch-outs: Clay has two meters, actions and data credits, so forecasting spend takes work. Reviewers on G2 often mention a steep learning curve. If you only need emails, a single provider is cheaper.
- G2: 4.6 from 234 reviews on Clay's G2 listing.
5. Findymail: best for keeping bounces under 5%
Findymail is an email finder and verifier that looks up each address live when you request it, instead of serving it from a stored database. Its homepage says it checks syntax, spam traps, the SMTP handshake and catch-all deliverability, and that about 30% of B2B domains are catch-all. It tells you which catch-all addresses will land and which will bounce. That's the part of a list where bounces usually come from.
Pricing, from Findymail's pricing page: the credit-based Starter plan is $99 a month for 5,000 finder and 5,000 verifier credits. An email is 1 credit and a phone is 10. Prospecting plans run $99 (1 seat), $399 (5 seats) and $999 (20 seats) a month. Datacare, its CRM hygiene product, starts at $500 a month billed annually. Every plan carries a guaranteed bounce rate under 5%, with credits refunded if you go over. Free accounts get 10 credits.
- Best for: cold email teams that already have lists (from Sales Navigator, Clay or a CRM) and need them cleaned and completed before sending.
- Data quality features: live verification, catch-all testing and a written bounce guarantee.
- Integrations: native with Clay, HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive, Instantly, Lemlist and Smartlead, plus Zapier, Make and an API.
- Watch-outs: no phone data for EU contacts, by Findymail's own GDPR policy, and its strongest phone data is US. It isn't a deep search database, so pair it with a list source.
- G2: 4.9 from 57 reviews on Findymail's G2 listing. The rating is the highest here, but the review base is small.
6. Cognism: best for European mobile numbers
Cognism sells contact and company data with a compliance-first pitch and a focus on mobile numbers. Its pricing page lists two prospecting plans, Standard and Pro, each with 5 seats included. Pro adds premium mobile data, mobile verification on demand and intent data. A credit reveals one contact, re-viewing a contact you already revealed is free, and the same credits work across the platform, its enrichment product and the API.
Pricing: not public. Both plans route to a sales conversation, and CRM enrichment is a paid add-on.
- Best for: teams calling into the UK and Europe who need mobiles and a vendor that leads with compliance.
- Data quality features: on-demand mobile verification on Pro, plus hiring, funding and job change signals.
- Integrations: MCP and API access, CSV enrichment and an optional CRM enrichment add-on.
- Watch-outs: no published price, and a 5-seat starting point is more than a solo founder needs. G2 reviewers often call it expensive.
- G2: 4.5 from more than 1,350 reviews on Cognism's G2 listing.
7. Lusha: best low-cost tool for phone lookups
Lusha is a contact data tool known for its Chrome extension and direct phone numbers. Every plan on its pricing page, including Free, lists verified emails and phones, filters, email sequences and call recordings with AI insights.
Pricing: Free is $0 with 40 credits a month and one seat. Starter is $37.45 a month billed yearly for 4,800 credits a year. Pro is $52.45 a month billed yearly for 7,200 credits a year and adds API, CSV enrichment, signals and webhooks. Premium is $299.95 a month billed yearly at the 40,800-credit level. Prices move with the credit slider on the page, and yearly billing is 25% off monthly.
- Best for: small sales teams and recruiters who mostly need a phone number for a known contact, fast.
- Data quality features: verified emails and phones and bulk enrichment from Starter.
- Integrations: API, webhooks and CSV enrichment from Pro.
- Watch-outs: credit counts on the cheaper plans are low for list building at cold email volume. G2 reviewers say credits run out quickly and flag some outdated contacts.
- G2: 4.3 from more than 1,650 reviews on Lusha's G2 listing, the lowest rating on this list.
8. Pubrio: best for Asia-Pacific coverage and market-entry signals
Pubrio tracks companies that are entering new markets (local hiring, new offices and entities, localized ads, news and cloud hosting) and returns the people behind each move. Its pricing page claims 800M+ companies watched, 50+ local data sources and a daily refresh, and Pubrio's own agent listing describes strong coverage of Asia-Pacific and other markets that Western-built datasets miss.
Pricing, from Pubrio's pricing page: Free is $0 with 100 credits. Startup is $99 per user per month billed annually, with 72,000 credits a year. Corporate is $199 per user per month billed annually, with 180,000 credits a year. Organization is custom. Annual billing saves 20%, and top-up credits cost $0.025, $0.02 or $0.015 each depending on plan. Its docs say cost per call is the same on every plan; plans differ only in included credits.
- Best for: teams selling into Southeast Asia or other non-English markets, or anyone whose trigger is a company opening in a new country.
- Data quality features: daily refresh with what Pubrio calls multi-step automated verification, and dated, evidence-linked expansion signals.
- Integrations: API access on every plan, including Free, and sequences and automation from Startup.
- Watch-outs: one G2 reviewer asked for better HubSpot and Salesforce integration. For a US-only ICP, the tools above have larger review bases and more mature CRM sync.
- G2: 4.7 from 5 reviews on Pubrio's G2 listing. That's too few to lean on.
How to choose a B2B data provider
Start with the job you need done. Most teams need one of three things: a place to search and build lists, a way to complete and verify a list they already have, or a way to combine sources. Apollo, Prospeo, ZoomInfo, Cognism, Lusha and Pubrio are search databases. Findymail is mainly a finder and verifier. Clay sits on top of the others.
Then price your real volume. Say one rep needs 2,000 verified emails a month. Prospeo Starter covers that at $49 a month ($37 billed yearly), since an email is 1 credit. Apollo Basic gives 30,000 credits a year for $49 a month billed annually, so the same 2,000 emails a month (24,000 a year) fits. Findymail Starter costs $99 but includes 5,000 finder credits and the bounce guarantee.
Phones change the math. 500 mobiles a month is 5,000 credits on Prospeo (10 each, so the $99 Growth plan) and 5,000 on Findymail Starter ($99). On Apollo it's 4,000 credits a month at 8 each, or 48,000 a year, which is the Professional allotment at $79 a month billed annually.
Check where your buyers are. If most of your list sits in Europe, Findymail won't return EU phone numbers and Cognism is built for that region. If you sell into Asia-Pacific, test Pubrio against Apollo on the same 100 accounts before you commit.
Finally, check what happens to unused credits. Prospeo rolls them over. Apollo and Clay reset each cycle. For more on what good data does to reply rates, see our cold email statistics; for context on picking accounts by timing, see our glossary entry on B2B buying signals.
When to hire an agency instead
A data tool gives you contacts. It doesn't write the email, warm the domains, watch bounce rates or decide which accounts are worth a touch this week. If your team doesn't have someone to own that, the tool sits unused after the first export.
That's the gap a cold email agency fills. IntentSignal runs cold email for US B2B companies with $10K+ contract values, from $2,999 a month, month to month. We pick and verify the data ourselves, and clients own every sending domain and mailbox we build. On strong account signals we see about 1 booked meeting per 100 emails; on generic targeting it's closer to 1 per 200. If you want to compare agencies first, here's our ranking of the best cold email agencies.
If you'd rather hand off the whole thing, book a campaign plan call and we'll show you which accounts we'd target and why.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best B2B contact data provider in 2026?
For most outbound teams, Apollo: it has a free plan, paid seats from $49 a month billed annually, verified emails and phones, and a built-in sequencer, with 4.7 on G2 from more than 9,800 reviews. Enterprise teams that need the deepest US dataset usually pick ZoomInfo, and teams focused only on verified email often get more per dollar from Prospeo.
Which B2B data providers publish their pricing?
Apollo, Prospeo, Clay, Findymail, Lusha and Pubrio all publish plan prices on their own pricing pages. ZoomInfo and Cognism don't; both ask you to talk to sales.
Is Apollo or ZoomInfo better?
Apollo is better for small and mid-sized teams that want published pricing and an all-in-one tool. ZoomInfo is better for enterprise teams that need US direct dials, intent topics and account hierarchies, and can manage a custom contract. ZoomInfo's data page claims 500M+ contacts against Apollo's 240M.
Do I pay for emails that aren't found?
It depends on the vendor. Prospeo's help center says you're only charged when a valid result is returned. Findymail refunds credits if your bounce rate goes over 5%. Read each vendor's credit rules before you buy in bulk.
Is Clay a data provider?
Not in the usual sense. Clay pulls data from 150+ other providers and runs them in a waterfall, so a miss in one source falls through to the next. You pay Clay for actions and data credits instead of buying each vendor separately.
Which provider is best for European contacts?
Cognism is built around compliant European mobile data and offers on-demand mobile verification on its Pro plan. Findymail returns EU emails but no EU phone numbers, by its own GDPR policy.
How many data providers do I need?
One is enough to start. Add a second source, or a waterfall like Clay, when your first provider's match rate on your target accounts drops below what you need. Test any new provider on the same 100 accounts you already have data for, so you can compare match rate and bounce rate directly.
